BoyleSports review: best odds guaranteed and cash out, both confirmed
BoyleSports was one of only two bookmakers in this comparison where we could confirm both best odds guaranteed and cash out from the operator’s own help pages, along with a published UK licence number.
Best odds guaranteed is the feature that pays for itself
Of everything a bookmaker can offer, best odds guaranteed has the clearest mathematical value. Take an early price on a horse, and if the starting price turns out to be bigger, you are paid at the bigger one. You keep the upside of taking a price early and lose the downside.
That is a real improvement in expected value on every qualifying bet, which is a different order of thing from a one-off welcome offer. A welcome bonus applies once; best odds guaranteed applies for as long as you hold the account and bet into qualifying races.
It is also the reason a racing-led bettor should weight it heavily when choosing between operators. The headline free bet figure is what marketing pushes; the standing terms are what actually determine returns over a season.
Cash out, and when it is a bad idea
Cash out lets you settle a bet before the event finishes, at a price the operator calculates. It is genuinely useful for closing a position you no longer want, and it is genuinely expensive if you use it habitually.
The reason is that the cash out figure includes a margin, in the same way the original price did. Every time you take one you pay that margin again. Doing it occasionally on a large position that has moved a long way in your favour is reasonable; doing it routinely to lock in small profits is a slow leak.
The alternative, if you have an exchange account, is to hedge manually. The hedge calculator on this site works out the lay stake that produces the same locked position, and it will usually return more than a bookmaker cash out because you are paying exchange commission instead of an embedded trading margin.
The Irish bookmaker angle
BoyleSports was founded in Ireland in 1982 and expanded into the British market later. Irish-founded firms tend to carry a racing emphasis that reflects the home market, and the confirmed presence of best odds guaranteed fits that pattern.
It is a smaller operation than the largest names in this comparison, which cuts both ways. Smaller firms are sometimes more competitive on specific markets and standing offers because that is how they compete; they can also be quicker to restrict accounts, because a single winning customer is proportionally more significant to them.
BoyleSports: the verifiable facts

BoyleSports questions
Does BoyleSports offer best odds guaranteed?
Best odds guaranteed was stated on its own help pages when we checked, on the date shown on this page. Terms normally restrict it to horse racing, so check the operator’s current conditions.
Is cash out worth using?
Occasionally, on a large position that has moved substantially in your favour. Used routinely it is expensive, because the cash out price carries a margin every time you take it.
Is hedging better than cashing out?
Usually, if you have an exchange account. Laying the selection yourself pays exchange commission instead of an embedded bookmaker margin, and the hedge calculator works out the exact lay stake.
Where is BoyleSports based?
It was founded in Ireland in 1982 and later expanded into the British market, operating here under a Gambling Commission licence.
